Over the last few years, we’ve scanned several billion units through PreBilt and this has helped save several millions of pounds by reducing stock loss.
At Warburtons' largest distribution hub, thousands of stock movements happen every day. With PreBilt, warehouse teams can track every movement as it happens, giving them complete visibility, reliable inventory data and full confidence in where stock is and where it's going.
Warburtons moves around 35,000 stacks of bread every day through its Banbury distribution hub. Before PreBilt, many of those movements relied on paper, with teams manually counting stock, checking paperwork and tracking goods by hand. The operation worked, but when something went wrong it was difficult to identify where the issue had started.
PreBilt replaced paper and manual processes with simple barcode scanning connected directly to SAP. Tasks that had relied on paperwork and counting are now completed on PreBilt, in real-time, with full traceability built into every movement. Operators have a simpler way of working, warehouse teams have more visibility and Warburtons has the confidence to manage more than 25,000 handling unit tasks every day. Following this success, PreBilt has been rolled out to Warburtons sites across the UK.
“For the operators, it's really useful that the pens have gone, bits of paper are gone, the reading glasses aren't on and off all the time. Now they just have to carry the one thing around with them… you've made their world a bit better, that's the ultimate win.” Paul Gaish, Warehouse Excellence. Manager, Warburtons
